Spike Jonze’s Her Gets a Release Date

Considering how slowly he produces his feature films, a new movie from Spike Jonze is always a special occasion and it looks like we’re going to get one this year as his enigmatic movie Her has now been given a limited release in New York, Los Angeles and Toronto on November 20 through Warner Bros. Pictures.

This puts it out two days before fellow auteur Alexander Payne’s new movie Nebraska, the Vince Vaughn comedy Delivery Man and the expected blockbuster The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. It will be rolled out to other cities after its initial limited release.

We don’t know much else about the movie except that it stars Joaquin Phoenix, Rooney Mara, Amy Adams, Samantha Morton and Olivia Wilde and we have the vague plot of “A lonely writer develops an unlikely relationship with his newly-purchased operating system that’s designed to meet his every need.”

Also CBS Films have finally dated the long-delayed remake of Gambit, starring Colin Firth and Cameron Diaz, which was adapted by Joel and Ethan Coen, and that will be released on October 11.
