Earlier this month, ShockTillYouDrop.com took the chance to hop on board a film tour. In addition to hosting some screening Q&As on that tour, they interviewed some of those involved in the movie, well in advance of the usual press junket madness. That film is The Purge, a solid, thought-provoking and vicious lil’ home invasion thriller opening June 7th that stars Ethan Hawke and Lena Headey. The tour took them to New York City, then Chicago, then Estes Park, Colorado just outside of Denver where the film opened the Stanley Film Festival.
The tour had already been well underway when Shock dropped in. Producer Jason Blum, of Blumhouse Productions, was showing it off to various college towns.
The video here details night one of their time on the tour where The Purge descended on a theater audience full of NYU students. They spoke with some of those in line to pick their brain about the film’s themes. And later, Shock caught up to Blum – who co-produced the project with the team at Platinum Dunes – to discuss the mechanics of the film tour, the reaction, the importance of listening to the fans and more.
