Sony Pictures has announced plans to conduct open casting calls this week in Southern California for the leading role of ‘Colton Burpo’ in their upcoming film adaptation of the best-selling book Heaven is for Real. The book was written by Todd Burpo and Lynn Vincent and released in November 2010, where it debuted at #3 on the New York Times bestseller list. The film will be shot in late Spring/early Summer.
The casting calls are specifically looking for a boy who can play the lead character, Colton Burpo, a Caucasian, blonde haired, blue eyed boy 4 to 5 years old with a lovely singing voice. No prior acting experience is required.
Those interested can choose between 1 of 2 days to participate in Southern California Saturday, April 27th from 11:30am-2:30pm at the Palm Garden Hotel (495 N. Ventu Park Road, Thousand Oaks, CA 91320 free parking at hotel) OR Sunday, April 28th from 12pm-3pm at the Newport Beach Marriott Hotel (900 Newport Center Drive, Newport Beach, CA 92660 free parking at Fashion Island or $4/hour parking at hotel).
