Vacation Reboot Delayed Indefinitely

Warner Bros. has put its Vacation plans on hold. The Hollywood Reporter brings word that the franchise comedy reboot has been delayed indefinitely due to creative differences.

As in the 1983 original, the new film is set to follow the misadventures of the now-adult Rusty Griswold (Ed Helms), who, along with his own family, heads off on a vacation trip to Walley World. Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley are attached to both write and direct.

“It’s catching up with the family now and Rusty will be played by Ed Helms,” Goldstein told ComingSoon.net in a recent interview. “He’s taking his own family on a trip to Walley World because he remembers that trip being so great.”

Christina Applegate is still attached to play Rusty’s wife and Chevy Chase and Beverly D’Angelo were recently said to be in talks to return as their respective characters.
