Judd Gets Divergent, McHale Joins Sandler-Barrymore Rom-Com

A bit of late Friday casting news tonight, as it’s being reported by The Hollywood Reporter that actress Ashley Judd is joining the young adult adaptation of Veronica Roth’s Divergent, while actor, comedian and “The Soup” host Joel McHale will be joining Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore in their untitled romantic comedy, according to Variety.

Judd joins the already announced cast of Shailene Woodley, Theo James, Kate Winslet, Ray Stevenson, Mekhi Phifer, Maggie Q, Jai Courtney, Miles Teller, Zoë Kravitz and more in Summit Entertainment’s adaptation of Veronica Roth’s best-selling novel which is being directed by Neil Burger (Limitless).

Not a lot is known about Adam Sandler’s next comedy except that it reunites him with Drew Barrymore, who he co-starred with in The Wedding Singer and 50 First Dates, as well as with director Frank Coraci who helmed the former.
