Michael Caine and Ben Kingsley have both signed on to join the cast of the upcoming horror-thriller Eliza Graves, Deadline reports. They’ll star opposite the previously announced Kate Beckinsale and Jim Sturgess in the Brad Anderson (Session 9, The Call) film.
Loosely based on “The System of Doctor Tarr and Professor Fether,” a short story by Edgar Allen Poe, the film will center on a Harvard Medical School graduate (Sturgess) who takes a job at an insane asylum, unaware of the fact that it has been taken over by its occupants.
Joseph Gangemi (Fear Itself, Wind Chill) provided the screenplay.
Caine can next be seen in Now You See Me while Kingsley stars in the upcoming Iron Man 3.
Shooting is expected to begin this June with Oren Peli (Paranormal Activity) among the project’s producers.
