Halle Berry’s Pregnancy Won’t Affect X-Men: Days of Future Past Commitment

Halle Berry announced earlier this month that she’s expecting her second child with her fiance Olivier Martinez, which left many of us wondering if that would force her to drop out of the upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past. The BBC is reporting that is not the case and that the film will shoot “around the bump,” as Berry put it.

“Storm probably won’t be as badass as she was going to be because we won’t be able to do any fighting or flying or things like that,” Berry said. “She’ll be different than we originally planned her to be but I still think she’ll be an integral part of this new X-Men movie.”

The Marvel Comics mutant ensemble’s big cast also includes Hugh Jackman, Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Michael Fassbender, Anna Paquin, Ellen Page, Shawn Ashmore, Peter Dinklage, Omar Sy, Daniel Cudmore, Fan Bingbing and Boo Boo Stewart.

Based on the comic book storyline “Days of Future Past,” which ran in Uncanny X-Men #141 and 142 back in 1981 during Chris Claremont and John Byrne’s run and introduced the idea of an alternate future for Marvel’s mutants that grew out of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants killing an important senator, leading to a future where all mutants are hunted by Sentinels.

X-Men: Days of Future Past hits theaters on July 18, 2014.
