Ravencroft Security Called to The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Set

Following yesterday’s reveal of Colm Feore on the set of The Amazing Spider-Man comes, again via director Marc Webb’s Twitter feed, a close-up look at the back of a security guard at the Ravencroft Institute for the Criminally Insane (first revealed on Monday). The logo matches the one Feore’s mystery character is standing next to, suggesting that he may be a Ravencroft official.

First introduced to the Marvel mythos in 1993’s “Spider-Man Unlimited #1”, Ravencroft is, essentially, to the Marvel Universe what Arkham Asylum is to DC. In the past 20 years of comic book history, Ravencroft has housed foes like Carnage, the Jackal and Vermin, among many others. How many of those names are hinted at in the final film, however, remains to be seen.

The Amazing Spider-Man, hitting theaters May 2, 2014, finds Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) with life busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation can’t come quickly enough. Peter hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away – but that’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.

The film also stars Shailene Woodley, Paul Giamatti, Sally Field and Chris Cooper.
