Fox 2000 Takes Nicholas Sparks’ The Longest Ride

Although its source material won’t hit the shelves until September 24, Fox 2000 has already made plans to develop a feature film version of Nicholas Sparks’ next novel, The Longest Ride. The adaptation is planned to hit theaters on February 13, 2015.

The Longest Ride follows two sets of lovers in two intertwining stories. The first story is told through flashbacks of a 90-year-old veteran’s life and the love he has for his departed wife. The second story follows a student who falls in love with a similarly-wounded bull rider.

Sparks’ past book-to-screen credits include The Notebook, A Walk to Remember, Dear John, Message in a Bottle, Nights in Rodanthe and the just-released Safe Haven which, released last week, has already grossed more than $36 million domestically.
