Set Visit Preview: The Incredible Burt Wonderstone

Los Angeles’ Wadsworth Theatre, built on the grounds of Westwood’s Department of Veteran Affairs, is the venue of choice for a variety of plays, comedy acts, musical performances and other staged productions. This past February, however, ComingSoon.net was able to catch a show starring none other than The Incredible Burt Wonderstone who, played by Steve Carell, took to the stage there in one of his many velvet jumpsuits to prepare the magical act of a lifetime.

Set for release on March 15, 2013, The Incredible Burt Wonderstone is directed by Don Scardino and features Carell as a headlining Las Vegas magician who, without a partner for the first time in his life, finds himself embroiled in a rivalry with an up-and-coming street magician named Steve Gray (Jim Carrey). Along for the ride is a supporting cast that includes Steve Buscemi, Olivia Wilde, Alan Arkin, James Gandolfini and many more.

Although we can’t reveal the full details of our set visit until closer to the film’s release, we’ll have full interviews with stars Carell, Buscemi, who plays Wonderstone’s original partner, Anton Marvelton, and Wilde, who plays, during the course of the film, assistant to both Wonderstone and Gray. We’ll also have thoughts producer Chris Bender (The Hangover, We’re the Millers) and Scardino, whose work on “30 Rock” led to Carell’s friend and Date Night co-star Tina Fey specifically recommending him for the job.

In the meantime, you can check out two new images from the production released earlier this week by clicking here and check back soon for the film’s first trailer.
