Hitting theaters this Friday, Focus Features’ For a Good Time, Call… is an original R-rated comedy from screenwriters Lauren Anne Miller and Katie Anne Naylon. Former college roommates and close friends, the pair based the project loosely on their own lives and Naylon’s brief time spent working at a phone sex line at Florida State University.
Miller stars as Lauren Powell, her own fictionalized alter-ego, who is decidedly on the reserved side. Ari Graynor, meanwhile, plays the outgoing, loud-spoken Katie Steele. Though an initial meeting puts them off to a bad start, various financial hardships wind up forcing them to become roommates. That’s when Lauren learns about Katie’s job working for a phone sex line and, with the contribution of Lauren’s management skills, the two soon form a close friendship and a lucrative business.
ComingSoon.net spoke with Miller, Graynor, Naylon and director Jamie Travis about pulling together truth and fiction to bring For a Good Time, Call… to the big screen.
