CS Video: Levy, Jackman & Leonard on Real Steel

This Friday, DreamWorks Pictures invites you to step into the ring for Real Steel, starring Hugh Jackman, Evangeline Lilly, Dakota Goyo, Anthony Mackie and Kevin Durand.

Inspired by Richard Matheson’s classic sci-fi short story, “Steel,” Real Steel offers a look at a near future where boxing matches are fought by highly specialized robots, controlled by human users. Jackman plays Charlie Kenton, a down-on-his-luck former fighter who’ll risk anything for a shot at a match. Suddenly confronted with his estranged son, Max (Goyo), Charlie finds that the kid he never wanted might mean the chance he’s looking for to get back on top.

ComingSoon.net caught up Jackman as well as director Shawn Levy and boxing choreographer and fighting legend Sugar Ray Leonard to talk about the project and how state of the art effects combined with classic fighting theory enabled the film to let both heart and steel step into the ring.
