Exclusive I Am Number Four Interviews

Hitting theaters this Friday, February 18th, I Am Number Four brings together a diverse set of talent that begins with the name “Pittacus Lore,” a nom-de-plume for best-selling author James Frey and his writing partner on the original youth-oriented science fiction novel, Jobie Hughes. From there, producers Michael Bay and Steven Spielberg teamed to deliver a film adaptation of the tale, arriving through Eagle Eye and Disturbia director D.J. Caruso with a screenplay from “Smallville” creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, along with “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” writer Marti Noxon.

In the wake of a genocide against their homeworld, nine young extraterrestrials (from the planet Lorien) are hiding out on Earth, spread as far and as wide from one another as possible to hide from a violent race of pursuers known as Mogadorians. Alex Pettyfer stars as Four (currently under the name “John Smith”), who leads the life of a teenage rolling stone, constantly changing his identity under the care of his protector, Henri (Timothy Olyphant). Arriving in smalltown Ohio, John finds friendship in form of Sarah (Dianna Agron) and Sam (Callan McAuliffe) but must keep his secrets even as he develops “Legacies,” extra-normal powers unique to each of the original nine.

Caruso, Pettyfer, Agron, McAuliffie, Olyphant and Teresa Palmer (who stars as Six), spoke exclusively with ComingSoon.net about bringing to life the world of I Am Number Four, the first chapter in what, if all goes well, is planned as a multi-part series.
