Exclusive: Statham and Foster on The Mechanic

Stepping into the same role that Charles Bronson played nearly 40 years ago, Jason Statham stars as Arthur Bishop in The Mechanic, this weekend’s big-screen updating of the 1972 original, arriving from director Simon West (Con Air, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider).

When Bishop, a hitman who specializes in making any job look like a perfect accident, is duped into betraying his best friend, Harry McKenna (Donald Sutherland), he winds up becoming the unwitting mentor to Harry’s son, Steve (Ben Foster). Now, while seeking his own revenge, Bishop has to hide the truth from his apprentice and deal with the wild, uncontrollable rage of a son desperate to avenge his father.

ComingSoon.net spoke with Statham and Foster about the film and the physical and moral side of playing a cinematic assassin.
