Check Out Our BBQ Films Ghostbusters HQ Gallery!

This past week in Williamsburg, Brooklyn the interactive event company BBQ Films presented the world’s only official immersive screening of the 1984 classic Ghostbusters – a transportive experience built around the classic movie called “GHOSTBUSTERS HQ.” We were lucky enough to attend Saturday’s showing and have over 25 pictures from the event — a Ghostbusters fan’s delight — which you can check out in the gallery below!

Guests of “GHOSTBUSTERS HQ” got a 360-degree interactive experience which included interacting with costumed members of different Ghostbusters fan clubs from around the country, recording their spectral encounters using special GIPHY Cam filters, and — of course — reliving the orange-y goodness of a Hi-C Ecto Cooler! In a special games room upstairs was an opportunity to try on a “real” proton pack, throw a ghost trap and play EVERY Ghostbusters video game ever released, including an exclusive first chance to play the new Ghostbusters console game and the mobile game, Ghostbusters: Slime City, both from Activision. There was also delicious all-you-can-eat pizza from Papa Johns, a physics lecture and a cameo appearance by actor Jordan Charney, who played Dean Yager, the man who kicked the Ghostbusters out of Columbia University at the start of the first movie!

Finally, original director Ivan Reitman gave a video introduction to his movie announcing that fans were going to get an exclusive sneak peak of director Paul Feig’s new Ghostbusters reboot, which opens on July 15!

“To be a New Yorker is to be a fan of ‘Ghostbusters,'” BBQ Films co-founder Gabriel Rhoads told us. “It is such a New York movie. New York is another actor in that movie! Literally anytime we could have done this movie, but since the new movie is coming out and fandom is getting ready for that it seemed like an absolutely appropriate moment to do it.”
