Interview: The Writers of Friday the 13th

ShockTillYouDrop.com talked to screenwriters Damian Shannon and Mark Swift about their remake of Friday the 13th, directed by Marcus Nispel (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre) and opening in theaters on Friday, February 13th. Here’s an excerpt:

Cognizant of their mistakes in Freddy vs. Jason, the first mandate the writers set down was to make “the kids sound natural,” says Swift. “Just be normal. We didn’t even want them to know [Jason’s] name. We just wanted to have them sort of fresh and have an experience.” Shannon continues, “We definitely wanted to avoid the Scooby-Doo cliché where it’s a bunch of kids trying to figure something out.”
