CS Video: Mistress America’s Lola Kirke

Interview with Mistress America star Lola Kirke

Possibly one of the biggest take-aways from Noah Baumbach and Greta Gerwig’s new comedy Mistress America is how great Lola Kirke is as 18-year-old Tracy, a first-year college student who starts to pal around with her older soon-to-be stepsister Brooke (Gerwig) and starts exploring New York City from a very different perspective.

It’s not just that Kirke does such a good job inhabiting the character of Tracy, but she also manages to really deliver on Baumbach and Gerwig’s dialogue-heavy script, while carrying the film.

Kirke’s name might not be that familiar, although she is currently starring in Amazon’s Mozart in the Jungle and she’s made appearances in a number of films like David Fincher’s Gone Girl (she was the young woman who robbed Rosamund Pike’s character) and others.

ComingSoon.net got to sit down with Ms. Kirke a few weeks back for an interview that you can watch in the video player below, in which she talks about getting the role in Mistress America as well as making Mena with Edge of Tomorrow director Doug Liman and star Tom Cruise.

Mistress America is now playing in New York and L.A. and will continue to expand into more cities over the coming weeks.
