Published in 1997, Zane’s Addicted marked the the first entry in what would rapidly grow to become a successful publishing company for the author, delivering a trademark blend of erotica and melodrama with a primary focus in the African American community. Now, Addicted comes to the big screen with a new feature film from Lionsgate and director Bille Woodruff.
Sharon Leal stars as Zoe Reynard, a successful businesswoman in a happy marriage to a loving husband (Boris Kodjoe). That all becomes threatened, however, when Zoe begins visiting a new client, a charismatic artist (William Levy) and the two begin to develop a sexual relationship. As her need for sex intensifies, however, Zoe is forced to realize that her infidelity may be the result of a true medical disorder and that, unless she gets help soon, she’ll lose everything she cares about.
