E! Online asked Zac Efron about those Star Wars rumors:

But the 26-year-old was less forthcoming about his rumored role in the upcoming Star Wars flick.

“Is it true? I don’t even know yet,” he coyly said to Seacrest when asked if he was signed on the star in the highly anticipated (and super top secret) movie.

“I guess the Force is with me tonight,” he added. (Was that a hint?! Maybe? No? Who knows!)

Jedi Temple Archives hints that we might get our first look at “Episode VII” toys at the San Diego Comic Con, specifically a new version of the Big Millennium Falcon toy:

It’s Big. It’s Massive. It’s Freaking gigantic. It looks like it is sourced to Episode VII though.

Star Wars Episode 7 News reiterates rumors that some filming may take place in Scotland:

Here’s a direct quote from the source:

So I don’t have a link to absolutely definitive proof, but I was at the Isle this week, and ended up chatting to some local guys who had just been in extras in Michael Fassbender’s Macbeth which also shot there. They told me that Star Wars VII was coming to shoot some scenes there, and that a call for extras had gone around. So that sounds to me pretty definitive! Amazing place to shoot, and I look forward to seeing what they do with it!

Ben Burtt Interview: The Imperial Walkers

In this vintage interview, sound designer Ben Burtt discusses creating the sound of AT-AT walkers in The Empire Strikes Back.

Walkers were fun to work on for Burtt because “they were big mechanical beasts,” and were a nice break from working on voices. Burtt felt that the challenge was to give them, through sound, a sense of mass and weight — in reality, AT-ATs were just miniatures animated on a small stage.

The sound of the AT-ATs moving came from a metal stamping machine, something akin to a “big chopping block” for steel, recorded in a factory. Burtt took the sounds and made them rhythmic to convey walking. For its knee joints, Burtt took a dumpster door and recorded it opening and closing.
