Starring:Géraldine Pailhas, Marine Vacth
"No one's serious at 17," wrote Arthur Rimbaud, a sentiment that may justify the choices made by 17-year-old Isabelle (Ms. Vacth), over the course of a pivotal year. Her transgressive and intimately observed coming-of-age journey is divided in four seasonal chapters and four pop songs, from her sexual awakening to her first time, to her foray into prostitution and her search for identity. Francois Ozon observes her journey without judgment, reflecting on the emotions and insecurities that saturate a young person’s entrance into adulthood, and again proves a master at coaxing strong performances from young actors. Nominated for two 2014 César Awards: Marine Vacth (Most Promising Actress) and Géraldine Pailhas (Best Supporting Actress) as Isabelle's mother.
