Based on the short story by Stephen King, "Mercy" tells the tale of two brothers ("The Walking Dead's" Chandler Riggs and "Super 8's" Joel Courtney) who move with their mother to take care of their dying grandmother at her decrepit home. When they suspect that the woman who helped raise them has turned to dark witchcraft, they start to believe that she will do anything to stay alive. The last place that George (Riggs) and Buddy McCoy (Courtney) thought they’d spend summer is in the countryside with their Gramma Mercy (Shirley Knight) after she suffers a stroke. So when their mother, Rebecca (Frances O'Connor), takes them to help with her care, what they find is nothing short of terrifying. As the almost comatose Mercy nears the end, George and Buddy decide that she has no intention of going quietly. Experiencing darker and darker phenomena in her 150-year-old house, the boys must discover if the fear is all in their minds…or if the woman they once adored has sold her soul in exchange for theirs.
