Christopher Coppola Launches Cell Phone Horror Film Challenge

Experimental filmmaker Christopher Coppola teams with Another Hole in the Head for filmmaking challenge; screens classic vampire film Dracula’s Widow

Filmmaker, rebel, George Kuchar disciple and all around cinematic outlaw Christopher Coppola (nephew of Francis Ford, brother of Nicolas Cage) is the brains behind the groundbreaking PAH-FEST (PAH stands for project Accessible Hollywood), a traveling digital media festival that celebrates the stories and voices of everyday people, particularly amongst young people. PAH-FEST offers participants the opportunity to discover the “artist within us all,” and to provide entertaining, quality content to the general public.

Now, Coppola and PAH-FEST have teamed up with San Francisco’s 13th annual Another Hole in the Head film festival, the celebrated horror fest that revels in all things weird, and noted cult film magazine Delirium for the 1 Minute Cell Phone Shoot Out.

The rules of the contest are simple: shoot a one minute flick on your cellphone.  It needs to be one continuous shot in real time, no pausing or editing.  Upload your film here by 12pm “high noon” PST  to November 5th, 2016.  The public and judges will vote based on your interpretation of the theme and creativity.

The theme for the challenge is literally “long in the tooth”: Dark Shadows, a nod to the classic and influential Dan Curtis horror soap opera which was spun into a pair of feature films, a TV revival and a Tim Burton horror comedy feature.

And the coolest thing will be that the top three films will be screened before a rare screening of Coppola’s subversive 1988 vampire movie Dracula’s Widow (starring Emanuelle legend Sylvia Kristel) at 9pm PST on Sunday, November 8th.Coppola will of course be there to introduce the film and announce the winners.

The first prize winner will also receive a stack of limited edition Delirium magazines and a signed bottle of Coppola wine.

Go to www.pahfest.org for full contest rules. Good luck!
