Jackie Kong’s Blood Diner Tour Announces New Stop

National Blood Diner screening and party tour to continue in Denver

2016 is shaping up to be the year of Jackie Kong.

The notoriously elusive filmmaker and transgressive comedy visionary has, after making a slew of now beloved cult genre flicks in the 1980s (read our love-letter to her 1984 romp Night Patrol here), been largely MIA in fan circles, which of course has perpetuated her myth.

But – as we reported here – Kong has re-emerged, riding high behind the legacy of her 1987 splatter comedy Blood Diner, with a massive touring Blood Diner screening event and party. The fun kicks off on Saturday, October 1st, at Austin’s legendary Spiderhouse Ballroom. Lady Jackie Kong herself will be hosting a screening of Blood Diner (a new high-def DCP), followed by a director Q&A and an all-stops-pulled-out after party with select cast and crew.

The tour launched to coincide with the thrilling news that Lionsgate has re-launched the lamented 80s VHS label Vestron Video, remastering and re-releasing Vestron’s most beloved titles on special edition Blu-rays, starting with Blood Diner and followed by Jim Wynorski’s Chopping Mall.

Today, Kong told us that the Blood Diner tour is continuing in the Denver area.

On Saturday, October 8th at 7:30pm at the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema Littleton in Littleton, Colarado, Kong’s berserk Blood Diner roadshow comes screeching back to life.

Kong will screen Blood Diner, host an exclusive cocktail party with BD inspired drinks and engaged in a Q&A. Copies of the BD Blu-ray will also be given away to select audience members.
