Actress Sigourney Weaver to Receive Career Achievement Award

Genre royalty Sigourney Weaver to be lauded in Europe.

The incredible Sigourney Weaver, the American actress who will forever be beloved by genre fans for her iconic turn as the xenomorph battling Ripley in the ALIEN franchise as well as the oft-possessed Dana in the GHOSTBUSTERS films, is set to receive the 2016 Donostia Award at the 64th San Sebastian festival in Basque.

The festival runs September 18th – 26th.

The award will time to the European premiere of THE ORPHANAGE director Juan Antonio Bayona’s new animated genre film A MONSTER CALLS.

 The Donostia Award first appeared in 1986 and was designed to honor actors, initially lauding Hollywood Golden Age greats and later contemporary icons.
