Tony Todd to Play Dracula in New Audio Drama

Beloved actor to give voice to DRACULA in new audio drama.

CANDYMAN star and beloved horror movie icon Tony Todd is set to tackle another iconic horror villain, as he lends his voice to an upcoming audio adaptation of Bram Stoker’s classic vampire tale, DRACULA.

Bleak December Inc., a multi-media production company founded by Canadian filmmaker and actor Anthony D.P. Mann, will be producing Dracula as the first in a series of audio adaptations of classic horror tales to be released initially for download through Fangoria magazine’s “Musick” label. The audio play, which will be released later this year, celebrates the rich history of classic radio theater and will feature a lush score and full cast. Mann, who serves as executive producer and will also play the vampire hunter Van Helsing in the drama, promises “…a frightening Victorian-era Count Dracula in the classic mold, featuring one of the greatest voices in the business. I’m not only a creator, but a fan of genre film – and Tony Todd is such a coup for us. I’m a long-time fan.”

Mr. Todd has released the following statement to coincide with the announcement of the project:

I’m honored and thrilled to form a partnership with Bleak December Inc and Fangoria Musick, in presenting the first of hopefully many audio recordings of classic horror characters. First up perhaps most iconic of them all. Yes, I’m so proud to lend my voicings to Bram Stokers DRACULA…”

Future audio releases planned by Bleak December include Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde, The Phantom of the Opera, Frankenstein, and The Hound of the Baskervilles. Dracula will be available for download through Fangoria Musick in time for Halloween 2016.
