10 Horror Movie Survivors in Desperate Need of Therapy

Many of those characters who survive a horror film come out stronger on the other side. Not these folks. For our list of 10 Horror Movie Survivors in Desperate Need of Therapy we’ve gathered characters who get run through the wringer and will likely not live happily ever after once the credits roll. It’s a parade of neverending trauma forever once these movies are finished.

Our list is inspired by Kino Lorber‘s Blu-ray release of the 1976 Canadian cult classic The Little Girl Who Lives Down the Lane, which features one of Jodie Foster’s most intriguing childhood roles as an autonomous 13-year-old attempting to fight off a small town sexual predator played by Martin Sheen. The disc features conversations with Sheen and director Nicolas Gessner, an audio commentary, two vintage covers (see art above) and -most importantly- the film itself, which is a 70’s gem as tender as it is shocking.

Needless to say, by its very title our list of horror movie survivors goes deep into SPOILER territory, so proceed with caution. That said, most tried and true horror fans should have seen most-if-not-all of the films we highlight. Check them out in the gallery below!
