FANTASTIC CINEMA FESTIVAL Announces

Arkansas horror film fest launches trailer contest; judges announced.

Returning in April 2016 to Little Rock, Arkansas is the Fantastic Cinema and Craft Beer Festival, a celebration of horror and dark fantasy filmmaking and culture spotlighting movies with edge and imagination that is co-presented by SHOCK TILL YOU DROP.

This year, the festival is launching the ‘Fantastic Phantasmagoria’ filmmaking challenge. Presented CRYPT TV, the contest is putting the call out to filmmakers from around the world and challenging them to produce an origina, 60-second genre film trailer for an imaginary film that doesn’t exist…except for in the creator’s mind!

“Genre filmmakers are some of the most creative filmmakers you will ever meet.” says Fantastic Cinema Festival Director Tony Taylor. “And most genre filmmakers have a million ideas in their head. Films they’d love to make. Films that could be the next huge genre films. We want to see these ideas, no matter how wild and crazy they may be, in the form of 60 second trailer.”

The fest has lined up a slew of folks to serve as judges for the trailers including SHOCK managing editor, musician and filmmaker Chris Alexander, Justin Beahm (writer, actor, filmmaker), Courtney Pledger (producer, Movie Little Rock) and Luchagore Productions’ Luke Bramley, Raynor Shima, & Gigi Guerrero (filmmakers).

Finalist trailers will be screened at the festival, running from April 7-10, 2016 with Crypt TV on hand to host the screenings. The winner of the festival will be highlighted on Crypt TV’s Facebook page and SHOCK will spotlight the top 10 trailers on our site.
