Scream Queens: Charisma Carpenter Joins, September Premiere Set

Buffy favorite Charisma Carpenter has joined Ryan Murphy’s upcoming slasher-comedy series Scream Queens in a guest starring role as the mother of another guest star: chart topper Ariana Grande.

On Instagram, star Emma Roberts revealed the series will debut September 22nd on FOX. Carpenter joins Roberts, Grande, Jamie Lee Curtis, Abigail Breslin, Keke Palmer and more in the show, about a sorority and college campus under attack from a slasher. “Wallace University is rocked by a string of murders. Kappa House, the most sought-after sorority for pledges, is ruled with an iron fist (in a pink glove) by its Queen Bitch, Chanel (Roberts). But when anti-Kappa Dean Munsch (Curtis) decrees that sorority pledging must be open to all students, and not just the school’s silver-spooned elite, all hell is about to break loose, as a devil-clad killer begins wreaking havoc, claiming one victim, one episode at a time.”

Co-creator Murphy previously explained, ““It opens in a flashback to 1995 at the sorority where something horrible happens. It’s a mystery that goes unsolved. Flash forward 20 years to today, and it looks like someone is out for revenge. Something horrible happened to a pledge and on the anniversary of that crime, someone is out for vengeance.”
