Excl: What Character is Back for Rings?

When director F. Javier Gutierrez revealed his upcoming Rings was a sequel set 13 years after the events of Gore Verbinski’s The Ring, it likely left many wondering if its players would be entirely unfamiliar to the series. The vague plot outlines a film about two young lovers in danger after the boyfriend, Holt (Alex Roe), watches the tape. Would Rings then only focus on a new generation encountering Samara’s curse? It seems not.

If you consider them such, spoilers follow:

The character of Aidan, son to Naomi Watts’ Rachel Keller and young protagonist of 2002’s The Ring and 2005’s The Ring Two, will appear in Rings. Whether David Dorfman, who essayed Aidan in the aforementioned films, will reprise the role is unknown to Shock, but an adult version of the afflicted boy does enter the proceedings.

Out Friday, November 13th, Rings stars Roe, Matilda Lutz and Aimee Teegarden. Production is currently underway in Atlanta.
