Formerly known as Savaged, this supernatural rape-revenge thriller Avenged has been acquired for U.S. release by Uncorkd and hits this March.
Directed by Michael S. Ojeda and starring Amanda Adrienne, Avenged puts a supernatural lens on rape-revenge. In the film, After a gang brutalizes a deaf girl (Adrienne), her lifeless body is inhabited by the spirit of a revenge-seeking Apache warrior. I confess to wondering why anyone still revives the exploitation subgenre, but strong word has me hoping Ojeda has something strong here.
Avenged opens on demand and in limited theatrical release this March 6th, with an April 21st DVD to follow. Find images and an early trailer, under its first title, below.
