IFC Takes Sundance Creature Feature The Hallow

The Hallow, Corin Hardy’s Sundance premiere and much praised creature feature will hit the U.S. via IFC Midnight.

Deadline reports the acquisition, said to be in the low seven figures. The fantastic film concerns “a secluded forest land in rural Ireland, where dwells an ancient evil. Feared by the nearby superstitious villagers as cursed creatures who prey upon the lost, their secrets have been kept from civilization and remain on their hallowed ground. But when a conservationist from London moves in with his wife and infant child in order to survey the land for future construction, his actions unwittingly disturb the horde of demonic forces. Alone in a remote wilderness, he must now ensure his family’s survival from their relentless attacks.”

Hopefully IFC will give The Hallow  a big push. Its creatures are awesome realized and certainly deserve a big screen. The distributor also picked up Reversal out of Sundance, while breakout The Witch went to A24 and Eli Roth’s Knock Knock was grabbed by Lionsgate.
