As per director Joe Lynch (Wrong Turn 2), this international clip currently making online rounds isn’t exactly official. What it is, is your first real look at his utterly bonkers actioner Everly.
Starring Salma Hayek, Everly may be contained in setting, but is quite far reaching in tone and influence. Lynch, who helmed horror sequel Wrong Turn 2 to great acclaim, puts his chops on full display in the story of one woman against a seemingly endless wave of assassins. With a simple setup, Lynch takes the brazen film (which premiered at this past September’s Fantastic Fest) to some weird places, including a Miike-styled detour which should get horror fans going.
Again, this is a leaked international trailer, one which runs through Everly, but keeps surprises in store. We’ll of course be back when U.S. distributor Radius-TWC gets the official preview out. Everly is out on UltraVOD January 23rd and in theaters February 27th.
