Over 75 Photos from the Son of Monsterpalooza Convention!

The Fall event is a companion to Eliot Brodsky’s Monsterpalooza which takes place in the same area during the Spring. There were some notable differences between the two shows this year. Son of Monsterpalooza dropped the usual monster gallery – which showcased various creature creations – and expanded the vendor and special guest space.

The convention did, however, welcome two new galleries. The paintings of Clive Barker were on display and, in another section of the venue, the event hosted “The It’s Alive Project,” a non-profit charity event benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Fund. This project presented 80 re-imagined life-size Elsa Lanchester Bride of Frankenstein busts by various artists. Easily the highlight of the show this season.

In the gallery here, you’ll find some of those busts along other fun, grotesque and weird images (including a few of that stellar “Tall Man” display you see on the right) from the convention.

Son of Monsterpalooza was another success for Brodsky. The convention brought in a Phantasm reunion panel, various stars from Day of the Dead and The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, and everywhere you turned, there were contestants – past and present – from SyFy’s Face Off.
