Exclusive First Look: Jeffrey Reddick’s ‘Good Samaritan’ With Rainn Wilson

Good Samaritan stars Toby Hemingway (Black Swan) and Rainn Wilson (CootiesThe Office) with a cameo by Jane Badler, who you may remember from the original V mini-series. The short is going to premiere at the Fantasia Film Festival on July 28th before a screening of Into the Storm.

I’m liking the concept of this one as it tells of the supernatural recursions that befall a group of people who watch a tragic incident and do nothing about it.

The synopsis goes like this: Nathan Rome (Hemingway) is an agoraphobic who videotaped a man get fatally beaten while numerous bystanders watched and didn’t intervene. Nathan goes on national TV to explain himself, but is blasted by for his inaction by George Reed (Wilson), a conservative talk show host. George points out that two of the other witnesses have died mysteriously and cryptically ponders if Nathan might be next. Nathan is convinced the other deaths were accidents. But after George shreds Nathan’s morality on national TV, Nathan finds himself home alone. Or is he? Nathan is confronted by haunting visions and wonders if his own guilt is tormenting him, or something far more insidious.

If you’re in Montreal at Fantasia during the 28th, give this one a look!
