Keanu Reeves to Star in Eli Roth’s Knock Knock

Cameras roll on the 13th of this month in Chile and, today, Deadline learned Keanu Reeves (!) will star. Lorenza Izzo, of Aftershock and The Green Inferno, and Ana de Armas are co-starring.

Reeves will play a married man whose family is away. Things take a terrifying turn when two young women show up at his house.

Ignacia Allamand, Colleen Camp and Aaron Burns have also been cast. Camp is producing and Reeves is executive producing. Deadline’s piece says Roth will have some footage to show at Cannes and he’s aiming to debut possibly at TIFF this fall.

Now, when we first reported on the film, we noticed this film’s plot bears a striking resemblance to 1977’s Death Game which starred Camp. That film is still not being mentioned. Is this a loose remake? Or do the events of Roth’s upcoming film deviate from Death Game so much that they feel safe enough not to mention it?

We’ll try to sort that out and see if anyone is willing to go on the record.
