Legendary Pictures has an exciting slate of projects ahead, including this summer's reboot of Godzilla (lots 'o coverage coming for that one here at Shock tomorrow).
I spoke with Legendary head Thomas Tull this morning to discuss the Gareth Edwards film – full interview posting later this week – and, naturally, we couldn't help but chat about a few projects. Namely, Trick 'r Treat 2 and the possibility of Pacific Rim 2.
Last fall, Legendary revealed it was reteaming with director Mike Dougherty for a sequel to the beloved anthology horror film.
"We love Trick 'r Treat. It's become a cult favorite and we got together with Mike who had a great idea for the second," Tull told us. "We said we definitely wanted to see where Sam heads next. Michael is writing, hopefully we'll be shooting that in the near not-to-distant future."
As for Pacific Rim 2, will we get a follow-up? Prior to the release of Pacific Rim last year we had learned that a script was being cracked.
"I was literally just with Guillermo on the set of Crimson Peak," said Tull. "We talk about it and have some pretty great ideas. If they come to fruition and we get a great script, then we're open to it. Fans seem pretty passionate about it and working with Guillermo. So, we're open to it."
Stay tuned for our full chat with Tull soon!
