The upside? Someone confident is behind the property: Writer Jeremy Slater, who’s also penning the new Fantastic Four.
He’s working with executive producer Roy Lee (The Ring) and Morgan Creek (who owns The Exorcist rights).
According to Deadline, Morgan Creek is shopping around a dramatic series based on the property – with a “brand new take” brought on by Slater – and it’s garnering some interest “from broadcast and cable networks.”
The funny thing about all of this is that The Exorcist heading to TV “news” isn’t really new. It was first reported here, then author William Peter Blatty came forward to say the news was false. Good one.
