According to Variety, Legendary – which has been seeking to depart from its deal at Warner Bros. – is making the leap to Universal.
The company still has to fulfill its obligations with Warner Bros. on titles like Godzilla. It also has many other projects in the works; we sat in on a press conference with Legendary president Thomas Tull last month.
Earlier this month, Shock sat down with Del Toro who told us he’d like to talk to Tull further about a third Hellboy film. While Tull responded, saying there are some rights issues to jump over to get Legendary in on the Hellboy party, perhaps this Universal deal will help things along? (Universal released Hellboy II: The Golden Army.) Time will tell.
