The Mondo Gallery in Austin, Texas is going to profile the classic Universal Monsters with the works of dozens of world-renowned artists including Martin Ansin, Rick Baker, JC Richard, Kevin Tong, Ken Taylor and many more.  The gallery show runs October 19th – November 10th, with an opening reception on October 19 from 7 – 10pm.  The gallery will also include original, never-before-seen works from legendary poster artist Drew Struzan.

This morning, we have an exclusive peek at the show with a piece by artist Laurent Durieux who did a take on Karl Freund’s The Mummy with Boris Karloff.  You can find a full look inside.

Durieux was born in Belgium and studied graphic design at the College of Advertising and Design in Brussels. After over 20 years as an illustrator, he made his way into the world of screen-printed movie posters, creating new art for films such as The Iron Giant and King Kong.
