Speaking of Ti West (yes Im a fan), his latest isnt quite as awesome as House of the Devil, but its awfully close. If V/H/S is ideal for watching in a theater or with a group of friends, The Innkeepers is perfect for watching alone. Its a slow-burn flick and takes is time, but the payoffs are more than worth it. West is an expert at establishing (and sustaining) just the right mood and slowly ratcheting up the tension. The story here is familiar, but the setting is appropriately spooky and the conclusion is really chilling. This is a solid new entry in the haunted house subgenre.
