Although James Wan has his plate full with The Warren Files, Insidious 2 is on the horizon and Leigh Whannell is back to pen the script. In an interview with Dread Central, the scribe and co-star of Insidious revealed two characters you can expect to see in the follow-up.
Whannell said:
“I can say that yes, my character will be seen in Insidious 2. It may probably bum a lot of people out, though, to hear this news. It’s part of the reason I don’t even read the internet message boards anymore; there was this hatred that spewed out from fans saying ‘I hated those guys! They sucked! They ruined the movie!’ so there will probably be a lot of people out there who will be disappointed to hear that the Specs and Tucker characters will be coming back.”
It’s still to early to say when shooting on Insidious 2 will begin. As we mentioned, Wan is in pre-production on Warren, which will keep him busy for a good chunk of the year, however, Insidious 2 is scheduled for release in 2013.
