Platinum Studios to Develop Werewolf Tale Big Badz for Comics, Screen

Big Badz is just one of the titles in Platinum Studios’ international library of thousands of comic book characters which it adapts, produces, and licenses for all forms of media including print, film, online, mobile/wireless, gaming and merchandising.

Big Badz is the story of an incredible struggle for survival as a group of inner-city housing project residents band together to stave off a pack of murderous werewolves that invade their home. A disgruntled ex-cop — now, the security chief at the housing project — teams up with a brave animal control officer; together, they join forces with a strange hunter who has devoted his life to destroy the werewolves. As the gruesome battle wages on, the heroes realize that their mysterious ally may not be so different from the lupine savages howling for their blood… they must pick between the lesser of two evils if they wish to survive the night.

The graphic novel was created by Rob Moran and written by veteran author Chuck Dixon, internationally known for his work on The Punisher and Batman franchises. Dixon also wrote the series for comic classics Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl and Birds of Prey.

Platinum Studios’ Chairman and CEO, Scott Rosenberg, also announced plans to develop Big Badz as a major motion picture. Rosenberg recently produced the 2011 tent pole feature Cowboys & Aliens with Steven Spielberg, Brian Grazer, Ron Howard, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci.
