Based on the Dutch horror film
Summit Entertainment is remaking the Dutch horror film Zwart Water (Black Water) with The Exorcism of Emily Rose‘s Scott Derrickson set to direct.
Charlize Theron is attached to star. The actress will also co-produce with Beth Kono via their Denver and Delilah Films banner.
The original film was re-titled Two Eyes Staring for the U.S. festival circuit. It played to Fantastic Fest audiences last month. In that film, nine-year-old Lisa discovers her sinister new friend is the ghost of the dead twin of Lisa’s mother. Lisa’s father also begins to suspect his wife of hiding a terrible secret, resulting in deadly consequences.
Derrickson is presently at work on Sinister, starring Ethan Hawke, for the producers of Insidious.
