EXCL: Lucas Till On Park Chan-wook’s Stoker

Actor has already wrapped shooting

Lucas Till spoke to this writer this afternoon during a preview of the X-Men: First Class Blu-ray on the Fox lot today. Till is no stranger to the horror genre having appeared in Laid to Rest, Dance of the Dead and Fear Clinic and Shock had to press him for details about Stoker, Park Chan-wook’s English language debut now shooting for Fox Searchlight.

“I just finished, it’s a small role. I play a bully to the main character [played by Mia Wasikowska],” he told Shock. “I have so much respect for Park. It was insane the way he directs. He can understand English, but he has a translator on set. And he could iterate through a translator better than a few directors I’ve worked with. It was so cool.”

In addition to Wasikowska, the film stars Matthew Goode, Nicole Kidman, Dermot Mulroney and Jacki Weaver. Wentworth Miller penned the script. Wasikowska plays a young woman who loses her father and is forced to live with her unstable mother and a mysterious uncle who she becomes infatuated with.

“I think it’s awesome no one knows much about the movie, it’s such a phenomenal script. Just seeing his ability to create tension, like Old Boy, I don’t want to say anything more, but this has that intensity, it’s going to be good.”
