• If you’re not tired of “throwback” films that put on an air like they’re from the ’70s or ’80s, then perhaps you can groove to the trailer for The Sleeper from director Justin Russell.

Synopsis: Alpha Gamma Theta are hosting a party for new pledges for the upcoming year. As the new pledges arrive, so does an uninvited guest. Little do the sisters know someone is watching them in the shadows. As the girls shower, study, eat and sleep the stalker studies the girls. One by one he finds the girls at their most vulnerable and murders them. The police hunt for the missing girls and their killer, but will they find them in time? Or will the girls be forced to fight for their lives.

• The Collingswood Story‘s Michael Costanza is back with a new film entitled The Market Street 6. An official site has launched. Set in San Francisco, the film concerns six strangers aboard a subway train that breaks down. They band together to reach the nearest exit, but their plan goes awry. Obviously. Or there wouldn’t be a story to tell. That’s about all that has been revealed plot-wise. Stay tuned for more.

• The second season of The Vampire Diaries hits stores on DVD and Blu-Ray August 30.

• Warner Bros. releases The Bad Seed on Blu-Ray for the first time on October 11.

• Since a sequel to American McGee’s Alice is hitting video game consoles, a filmmaker – R. Zane Rutledge – took it upon himself to do a live-action trailer with Jennymarie Jemison playing Alice. This is an unofficial trailer and not connected with the folks behind the game. A live-action film had been in the works long ago with Wes Craven at the helm, but that project fell apart.
