Alex de la Iglesia’s Last Circus Comes to the U.S.

Two clowns duke it out

The Day of the Beast and Accion Mutante‘s Alex de la Iglesia’s 2010 effort The Last Circus, a bizarre-looking romp, is coming to the U.S. courtesy of Magnet Releasing.

Written by Iglesia, the film kicks off during the Spanish Civil War, where members of a circus are forced to fight a platoon, in full circus garb. The story picks up many years later to focus on the rivalry that simmers between a sad clown (the son of one of the circus performers who saw combat) and a happy clown and what the two will do to win the affections of a woman.

Nice to see Iglesia back in this sort of territory after The Oxford Murders.

Stay tuned for release date news as it comes in.
