Christmas With the Dead Lands Different Director

Based on the story by Joe Lansdale

Terrill Lee Lankford has replaced Brian James Fitzpatrick at the helm as director of Christmas with the Dead.

“We’re sorry it didn’t work out with Brian, as no one respects his talents and skills more than I do, but we’re happy to have Lee on board,” said executive producer Joe R. Lansdale.

Some of Lankford’s previous credits include the writing gigs Chain of Command, Armed Response and Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers.

He’s currently co-writing the big screen adaptation of The Equalizer with author Michael Connelly.

Lankford says, “We’ve got a fresh, talented cast, an enthusiastic young crew and 110 degree weather conditions to challenge the zombies and the make-up artists. (I’ll be directing in a loin cloth – please, no flash photographs!) Keith Lansdale’s screenplay was a revelation to me. I know he comes from good writing stock, but I did not expect level of artistry he brought to the script. I think this will be a really fun project and I hope I can do the material and the cast and crew justice.”

The synopsis for the film goes like this: It was a foolish thing to do, and Calvin had not bothered with it the past two years, not since the death of his wife and child. But this year he decided quite suddenly, that tomorrow was Christmas Eve. And zombies be damned, the lights and decorations are going up…
