What Will David Ellis’ Shark Thriller Be Called?

Perhaps the laziest thing ever…

It’s somewhat sad when Hollywood cannot even come up with a title for a film.

David Ellis, who directed Snakes on a Plane, is at work on another nature-run-amoke thriller which was originally called “Shark Night” but has now simply adopted Untitled Shark Thriller until a new title comes along.

And a new title will come along, right?

Perhaps not. NY Mag says Ellis, and Relativity (the distributor), might just roll the film out on September 2 with Untitled Shark Thriller 3D.

“I hated the original title [Shark Night 3D], too,” Ellis told the mag, “so at our weekly production meetings, I made everyone on the crew come up with names — Chums, Fins, Terror on the Lake — but they all seemed kind of cheesy. And so until I hear a better name, I like what we’ve got right now: Untitled 3D Shark Thriller. The title says everything you need to know: ‘We’ve got sharks.’ ‘It’s in 3D.’ and, ‘It’s a thriller.'”

There you go. The studio suits seems to be keen on that.

Starring Sara Paxton, the film concerns a group of college friends spend a weekend at a house on the lake, only to find that danger lurks beneath its waters.
