The horror spoof series lives on
The Weinstein Company announced in a short message on Facebook that a fifth installment of the “Scary Movie” spoof comedy franchise has been given the green light.
Anne Faris played Cindy Campbell in all four films that started back in 2000, though it’s uncertain if she’ll return again. It’s been five years since the fourth movie came out in 2006.
The films, which all cost under $50 million to make, have earned a nice $818 million worldwide for the studio over the years, so it’s no surprise that they would want to keep the franchise going.
