Director Locked for Bret Easton Ellis’ Bait

The author of American Psycho



When Bret Easton Ellis, author of “American Psycho,” isn’t penning novels he’s writing scripts and is latest, Bait, as found not only a home, but a director.

Variety reports Jonas Pate will sit at the helm of Ellis’ thriller which resides at Picture Machine and Galavis Films.

Pate is directing the pilot episode of Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome and has an extensive history in television.

Bait concerns a group of American students, boating in shark-infested waters, who are held hostage by a crazed woman.

Filming begins next spring in Spain. Lionsgate may distribute in the U.S.
